Hanover Park

Hanover Park Snow Removal Main streets are cleared first, secondary (residential) streets are second, and cul-de-sacs are cleared last. Intersections are salted after snowplowing. In cases of severe icing, intersections and straight sections of road are salted immediately. Snowplow drivers are instructed to avoid stopping and talking to residents. Parking A Village ordinance prohibits parking on Village streets for 24 hours following a two-inch or more snowfall. Sidewalks A Village ordinance requires sidewalks to be cleared of snow within 24 hours of a two-inch or more snowfall. This allows safe access for pedestrians. Garbage Pickup Place garbage out two hours before pickup on or close to the driveway to minimize garbage containers becoming snow covered due to the plows. Contacting the Village Except in an emergency, avoid calling the Village or Police Department during a snow storm so that emergency calls can get through. In emergencies, dial 911. Following a snowfall, nonemergency calls can be made to (630) 372-4440 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; call (630) 372-4400 after 4:30 pm
